National Social Protection Month 2026
"From Vulnerability to Resilience"
October 2026 is dedicated to elevating the national conversation from vulnerability management to true resilience-building. Social protection is not just a safety net—it is the indispensable bedrock of Uganda's ambitious 10-fold growth strategy, ensuring our transition to an upper-middle-income economy leaves no citizen behind.
Key Campaign Pillars
- Shock-Responsive Systems: Equipping communities and funding channels to anticipate and rapidly recover from climate, displacement, and economic crises.
- Inclusive Coverage: Extending targeted social security and direct income support to informal workers, seniors (SAGE), and persons with disabilities.
- Health & Care Infrastructure: Advocating for the National Health Insurance Scheme and institutionalizing holistic geriatric and socio-cultural care.
- Legislative Action: Reviewing national policies and conducting nationwide dialogues to integrate social protection into the core of domestic financing.
